About the Band
Consummate Rogues are a UK-based rhythm & blues band, made up of some of London’s top session musicians, and fronted by sax and keys player, Chris Rand. As well as the deep-rooted influence of blues, country and Americana on their music, there are also traces of classic British pop music within their sound, creating an unconventional and unique flavour.
‘I’ve come to realise I have a bizarre musical taste’, admits Chris. ‘I think that’s why I’ve always found it difficult to keep within certain musical boundaries, and often I end up going on a bit of a tangent. You can certainly hear that in the music I write, and the songs which we play.’
Consummate Rogues is a product of many years playing as a side-man and session musician for some of the UK’s top blues and jazz artists. ‘I’ve fronted many original projects in the past’, explains Chris. ‘However, when I began performing with Consummate Rogues, and switched to playing mainly piano and singing, I found that it connected with people in a way that my previous band’s didn’t’.
